In the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, the athlete became an international sensation when she scored the first asymmetrical perfect ten bars. And, to top it off, she went to score six more perfect 10s, making her the youngest overall Olympic gold medalist, at only 14 years old. The Romanian gymnast did not only draw attention from all directions She also played a role in helping Romania find itself a place in the world map. By achieving a score that was not possible the sport's icon helped bring gymnastics into the spotlight of global attention. The sport also altered the perception about female gymnasts. The impact she had on the Olympics was so significant that two of her movements including the toe-on and release have been named in her honor. Both are classified as difficult to the highest level. Alongside the Olympics She also displayed outstanding performance in both in the World Championships & European Championships. As a result, she was a renowned gymnast as well as one of the most famous athletes the world has ever witnessed. Following her move to the US the 'Queen of Olympics was a model and sports equipment promotion.
